Associates of the firm have qualified as Barristers and Solicitors of the Supreme Court of Nigeria - serving in the two distinct capacities.
Their previous duties were in private legal practice and/or public legal service achieving expertise in the areas of non-bank financial services and corporate law, the law relating to computers and telecommunications, as well as energy and intellectual property.
The Principal
Dr 'Timi Austen-Peters is a Notary Public of the Federal Republic of Nigeria having qualified as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 1986. He is a published author on a book on the custody of financial assets and his academic qualifications include a doctorate in law from the University of Oxford, an LL.M. from the University of Cambridge and an LL.B. from the London School of Economics (LSE).
He has worked as a lawyer for the United Nations Office at Geneva, Switzerland, and for a leading commercial law firm in Lagos. Immediately before forming Austen-Peters & Co., he worked as a Legal Consultant to the African Development Bank in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire.
His core areas of competence include pensions and securities transactions, telecommunications as well as various aspects of international law.

- Member of the Securities & Exchange Commission's National Committee on Private Pension Fund Management inaugurated on 14 June 2001.
- Vice-chairman of the National Council on Privatisation's Steering Committee on Pension Reforms in Public Enterprises, inaugurated on 17 September 2001.
- Chairman of the New Products and Processes Sub-Committee of the Capital Markets Committee, inaugurated on 31 October 2002.
- Team Member of the Workgroup on Privatisation and Deregulation of the annual Nigerian Economic Summit, from 2003
- Chairman of the Capital Markets Solicitors Association's Sub-Committee on Continuing Legal Education for Capital Market Solicitors
- Member of the Bond Sub-Committee of the Capital Markets Committee

Nwachi Otuogbodor
Mrs Otuogbodor studied law to post-graduate level at the University of Lagos and qualified as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 1985. She has enjoyed a wide-ranging career which has encompassed work in both the public and private sectors of England and Nigeria, including acting as company secretary and in-house legal adviser to a Nigerian Home Loan and Savings company.
Since joining the firm, Mrs. Otuogbodor has successfully led legal teams on numerous transactions including capital market transactions and corporate acquisitions, and has delivered papers on various aspects of financial services law.

Jide Ogundana
Mr. Ogundana attended University of Ibadan (1986 BA History); University of Lagos (1990 LL.B); Nigerian Law School (1995 call to Bar) and University of Manchester (1998 LL.M in International Business Law). He renders legal services in commercial law and since joining the firm has led the firm's energy and public private partnership consultancy services.
Jide Ogundana has worked as a consultant on the regulatory reform of the Downstream Petroleum Project for the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE). He was also a consultant on the Corporate Restructuring of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) project.

Mr. Oladipo was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1995. He obtained LL.B from the Lagos State University and LL.M from the University of Lagos. He specializes in Mergers & Acquisition, Capital Market Issues, Company Regulation and Real Property & Commercial Practice in general. Professional memberships include Nigerian Bar Association and the International Bar Association.

Nehizena Ibhawoh
Mrs. Ibhawoh was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2002. She obtained LL.B from the University of Benin in 1999. She worked with a reputable law firm in Bayelsa State before joining Austen-Peters & Co. Her core areas of competence include Company Regulation, Real Property, and Corporate-Commercial Practice. She is also involved in Pensions, Capital Markets, Corporate Project Finance and Energy. Before joining Austen- Peters & Co., She worked with leading and reputable Law Firms in Abuja, Consulted as Company Secretary to one of the leading Information Communication & Technology Firms in Abuja. Femi Bamisile
Mr. Bamisile was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2004; obtained his LL.B from Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife in 2002. Prior to joining Austen-Peters & Co, he worked with reputable law firms in Lagos. His core areas of competence include Corporate-Commercial Practice, Real Property and Company Regulation. He is versed in the provision of excellent company secretarial, commercial and real estate consultancy services. He is also involved in Pensions, Litigation and Arbitration. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association.

Bolanle Oyekan
Mrs. Oyekan attended Ogun State University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State and graduated with honours in 2003. She then proceeded to the Nigerian Law School and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2004. Since then she has been involved in active commercial law practice with a special flair for corporate restructuring, company secretarial ship and general solicitors practice.
In 2006, she became an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) and is presently a student member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (UK).Bolanle specialises in corporate and commercial law practise with a strong passion for research, company secretarial practises, drafting of legal documents and corporate restructuring. She retains a keen and active interest in the finance sector of the economy.

John Paul Okwor
Mr. Okwor obtained his LL.B from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology in 2004 and subsequently attended the Abuja Campus of the Nigerian Law School for his BL in 2005/2006. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in November 2006.
He had his compulsory one year service with the law firm of J.R. Ndawalam & Co in Yola, Adamawa State. Prior to joining the law firm of Austen-Peters & Co in December 2007, he has worked with some law firms including: Afam Akputa & Co in Enugu, Enugu State. He has interest in Corporate Commercial Practice, Litigation and Arbitration, Pension, and International Law.
